MooGoo produce a shampoo and conditioner which is supposed to sooth the scalp, reducing/eliminating dandruff, scalp itchiness etc. Although some reported that these products did reduce their scalp irritation, many others claimed that the shampoo and conditioner soothed their scalp, eliminating dandruff and the like. Some claimed it gave them beautifully soft hair. Others claimed it left their hair feeling dry, needing to use their regular conditioner.
Another product which I had read a lot of positive feedback is the anti-aging cream. Some people were uncertain as to the effectiveness of this cream; others raved. Some were not satisfied as the cream did not create a barrier on their face; rather, the cream soaked in and needed reapplying frequently to remove the 'dry' feeling.
After the generally positive reviews that I had read, I thought I would give MooGoo products a try. Now that I have had my eyes opened about the differences in shampoo and conditioners, I was more open to trying the MooGoo shampoo and conditioner. However, as I had been using a salon product successfully and I do not have an irritated scalp, I did not expect much results. I also ordered the anti-aging cream.
Day 1
When I received the products, I applied the anti-aging cream. It rubbed straight in, and did not leave a greasy residue. It left a nice feel - but like the reviews I read, I found that I needed to reapply about 5 times that day. I also applied some before I went to sleep.
Day 2
When I woke up, I glanced in the mirror and was pleasantly surprised. Instead of an oily, dull looking face in need of a clean, my cheeks had a pink flush, and my face did not look oily. In fact, I looked like I had just had a facial. My skin had a 'dewy' appearance, a look my face has not had for a very long time. I chalked one up for MooGoo.
After cleansing my face (with my normal morning cleanser) I applied the MooGoo anti-aging cream. Today, I reapplied the cream twice (once during the day and again at bed time). My face did not appear to feel as dry; in fact, the feeling was strange. When touched, my face felt kinda damp, moist, plump - I'm not sure how to describe it, other than to say that it made me think of a rainforest - a balanced ecology that works.
Anyway, that was my experience with anti-aging cream. At this point, I am satisfied with the product. Let's see what happens in the next few weeks.
I also used the shampoo and conditioner today. When applying the shampoo, there was not much of a lather at all, which is how the shampoo is designed. I have long hair, and it took a good sized pool of shampoo to work it through all of my hair. After working the shampoo into my hair for a while, it because a lot easier to spread through; next time I use the shampoo, I will use less and persist until it goes through.
I used 15 conditioner pumps to get through my hair (the pumps are fairly small). I made sure all of my hair was covered to prevent any dryness. I left the conditioner on for a few minutes, then rinsed off. My hair went into a pony tail for the day, and I forgot about it.
Tonight, I let my hair down for bed. The ends of my hair are a little dry - however, the rest of my hair is incredibly soft. I was very surprised at this, as I felt the salon shampoo and conditioner had improved my hair to the point where it couldn't get much better. Next time I wash, I might put a bit of my regular conditioner on the ends of my hair to help with the dry ends.
