Disable block list in Belkin router

If you have a Belkin router, you may find some sites time out with a DNS error. You may be able to get to other sites fine, it will be just that * one * site (or several particular sites). The reason this happens is because of the router automatically banning some sites.
To prevent this happening, you need to disable the block list. Use the following steps:

  • Open a DOS prompt (start->run and type in cmd)
  • Type the following:
    • telnet 192.168.2.1
    • Username = admin
    • Password = password set to access the router config

Once you access the router config, type the following in:
  • firewall set IDS blacklist disable
  • Close the window

You should now find that you can access the sites that were timing out.
